Therapy for Teens
Have you heard your teen say any of this recently:
"You don't get it. You’re not listening to me."
‘’I am never good enough for you.’’
‘’No one likes me at school.’’
"No one really knows me."
"I'm fine, leave me alone."

But you know they're not fine and they won't tell you what's going on. You're right and therapy helps. Therapy gives teens a safe space to openly talk, not fear consequences or judgment from others, and really get to the bottom of what's upsetting them.

Using techniques from Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), I will teach your teen skills to be mindful of their emotional reactions and have your teen examine whether their actions are leading them towards the life they actually want. If they are struggling socially, your teen and I can develop a step-by-step plan for them to discover their identity and find their people.
Conjoint Parent-Teen Therapy
If the teens think life is hard - try being their parent for a day!

Parenting a teenager is no stroll in the park. From the new learned rebelliousness, independence, and "shutting you out," it's hard. You feel frustrated, worried that you're not in control of what happens to them, and distant from them.

This is where I can help. I can meet with you to provide you with research-backed methods to have your teen listening and engaging more. I will also meet with you and your teen together to help you start connecting again, hearing each other, and respecting one another. Therapy is a safe place for you and your teen to explore the difficulties in your relationship and work towards what you both want.
